More about Joy

Dear Readers,

The release of my third novel, Waking Up Joy, is coming up fast, but publication this time around has been hard-won, which makes finally being able to share it with you that much sweeter. I’m thrilled and grateful to my publisher Tule Publishing Group for welcoming Waking Up Joy as Women’s Fiction into their Southern Born line of books, right alongside some amazing novelists, including Kim Boykin, Erika Marks, Jane Porter, and many others who make me star struck to think about sharing a publisher with. I also got to work with editor Amy Sue Nathan. I’ve known her for a long time, but having her work on my book with Tule was amazing.

As for being Southern Born, as many of you know, I live in Wyoming, but you may not know that I was raised in Oklahoma where my roots still run deep in the corner of Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas. This is the region that inspired Joy’s story. Growing up in that rural area between Green Country and the Ozarks was an experience that has shaped who I am, although I have only just started to write about that region in my books. Most of Oklahoma is considered Midwest, but growing up on the eastern side of the state is a little more South by Midwest, which is why you’ll find so many Southern things about Waking Up Joy. If you just can’t wait to find out more, be sure to click on the tab dedicated to Waking Up Joy on this blog or check it out over on Goodreads.

I want to thank you, my readers, for being my biggest encouragers of all. Your letters, emails, and messages telling me you were waiting for me to write another book kept me believing that there was a readership for Waking Up Joy. You all are amazing. An author couldn’t ask for more in the way of readers and friends.

So here’s to bringing you Waking Up Joy on October 8th, 2014. And of course, my first two novels, Ruby Among Us and Rose House, are still available from Random House.

Thanks for visiting and be sure to keep in touch.
