Wyoming Letters About Literature Winner Achieves National Honors

Congratulations to Wyoming student Macoy Churchill for winning Wyoming’s Letters About Literature! Macoy’s letter to Marie Lu, author of Legend, not only won top prize in Wyoming, but was forwarded to the National level and is now a National Honor Winner! As if that is not enough, his letter was chosen to appear in the Best of the Best LAL Anthology in 2017.

You can read Macoy’s letter in full from the Wyoming State Library website, as well as about all of the finalists and other age group winners.

I had the pleasure of serving as a state level judge in the Letters About Literature contest this year. I was blown away by each and every entry, as I am sure all the other judges were, but you really need to click over and read Macoy’s to see why it is so amazing. We are proud of you, Macoy!

Congratulations to all of the winners and finalists, and a shout out to their teachers and librarians. Teachers & School Librarians, please offer this contest to your students next year. You will not regret it.

Happy Reading,
