Launch Party!

The launch party for Ruby Among Us was more than I could have dreamed. I know I’m blessed to have had a turn out of about 100 people and to have sold almost 100 books. I am truly amazed and humbled that so many people turned out. Thanks to all of you who came! My family came too and it was so special to have my parents, sister, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law there in addition to the rest of my family.

I have to brag a little bit on the folks who threw the party. The Laramie County Library Foundation with the Laramie County Library were the wonderful hosts. Not only was it wonderful to have my first launch in the truly wonderful library, but they had real Mantecadas, just like Kitty makes in Ruby Among Us and there were beautiful quilts hanging in the reception area since Kitty is a quilter. The cookies were wonderful and both the reception and launch party were amazing.

The crowd seemed to really enjoy the giveaway portion. My publisher donated some books by other authors that I put into various gift baskets with some copies of Ruby Among Us. One of them was even a book club starter basket and a book club who was there actually won it!

The whole evening was like a dream. I loved how the reception reflected the scenery and various details from the book and I really loved interacting with the crowd of readers who showed up.

Some time in the future when I am sitting at a signing with about three people, I will remember back to the day I had 100 (It was 98, but I’m counting those folks who went to the ladies room during the count)!

  3. Congratulations, Tina! You are a beautiful young lady and you are due your blessings.

I won’t forget you, because we became close at the ACFW conference in Dallas in 2006 (I think). You gave me a public tribute that gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling and I have the note you wrote among my treasures. You blessed me by praying with me and by spending fun time together while there.

    You deserve this!

  7. Congratulations, Tina. It looks like your launch went splendidly, and I hope that’s just the beginning for your book and writing career.

BTW, I’m a new (CO Springs) member of RMFW and I’m sorry I couldn’t make it to the launch.
